My Wonderful Days is now universal with iCloud support!

Hi!

We’ve been trying hard to bring you this update. It’s universal (iPhone+iPad) with iCloud support! Data is synced automatically in the background. You don’t need to do anything. It just works! :D

Update also includes adding multiple photo on an entry and font size changes, auto saving and many more!

Keep on your wonderful days with this wonderful journaling app, My Wonderful Days! :D

For users before this version,
If iCloud is enabled, data might take some time to come back to your app. Please be patient! Your data is all safe and right in place. More your data and photos written before, more time it’ll take. But everything will be magically come back! Thanks for your patience and keep on your wonderful days! :D

    When I go into calendar view, the number of entries (in the red circles) shows up on the wrong date. Usually the day after. It also shows the incorrect number of entries in calendar view. For example, in list view, I have 5 entries for March 5, but in the calendar view, it show that I have one entry for March 6. If I tap on March 6th in calendar view, I see nothing, but if I tap on March 5, I see all 5 entries.

    What I expect to see is 5 marked in the red circle for March 5 in calendar view.

    How do I fix this?

    Hi, I just bought the app. And you know what: the sole reason I bought it is exactly because of the iCloud Sync feature. I want to use it as a diary for my kid. The plan is: both myself (on an iPhone) and my wife (on an iPad) are going to make the entries. That way, we can sync our note each other.

    Hello. I bought this app specifically for the syncing capability with my iPad2/iphone4s. My iCloud is turned on on both devices and within the app. When I downloaded it, it did load on both devices. I have been using it for 4 days and the notes are not syncing to the iPad. I even did a manual backup on the iPad. No notes are showing up. Am I missing a step to have the sync occur?

    • Thanks for using My Wonderful Days! :D We understood that you’re iCloud is turned on on both devices and also within the app on both devices. Please check if both devices use same iCloud account first. If it does, go to iPhone’s main Settings.app -> General -> Usage -> iCloud : Manage Storage -> Documents & Data : My Wonderful Days. Check if entries are there. Entries are named by 20120318.entry or 20120318. If it’s all there, turn off the app completely and turn it back on (Press home button twice on main screen. On below multitasking bar, close the app). Try it out and if you have more questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks! :)

  6. I can’t even turn on the iCloud in the app settings. Every time I tried to turn it on from off, it pops ” Can’t connect to iCloud. Please try later.” I tried 30 times today on both my iphone and ipad but all failed. Very frustrated. Seems like being able to sync on iCloud is a big selling point but it doen’t work. Please fix it.

      Dear,

      If you get “Can’t connect to iCloud” alert, it means that your device is currently not available for iCloud.

      To make it available, please check the followings.

      * iOS version needs to be higher than iOS 5
      * iCloud account needs to be set on iPhone’s settings -> iCloud
      * On iCloud settings, “Documents & Data” needs to be On

      Please check these 3 and all will work properly.

    I downloaded wonderful days lite. I liked it Nd after 4 days, downloaded and purchased the full version. I wish to transfer my writings from lite to the full version. I cannot connect to iCloud for some strange reason in both versions. How then do I transfer my writings?

      Using iCloud is the best and simple way to move the entries. Since it’s not working for your case, you should use wifi backup and restore to move your entries.

      1. Backup
      - Go to settings on bottom right
      - At bottom, tap Wi-fi backup
      - Tap Backup
      - On your PC that’s connected to same wi-fi with your iPhone/iPad, turn on a browser and type in URL that’s shown on iDevice.
      - Download the file on browser and keep the file

      2. Restore
      - Go to settings on bottom right
      - At bottom, tap Wi-fi backup
      - Tap Restore
      - On your PC that’s connected to same wi-fi with your iPhone/iPad, turn on a browser and type in URL that’s shown on iDevice.
      - Upload the file that you’ve downloaded on Backup

    I have tried these steps to sync my wonderful days that is on my ipad to my iphone and have had no luck at all. if you could please help me further that would be great thanks the only thing that is happening on my iphone is it pops up with an update page that has 3 pages and it has been like this for 2 days now and will not sync

  9. I’m trying to use the search function but it doesn’t seem to be able to search words at all? I’ve typed in words I know are in my entries, and have even just tried single letters. Nothing comes up though? When I choose based on the “face icons,” then entries come up. Not sure what’s wrong…

      Please turn off the app completely and turn it back on. Search function should work properly on both iPhone and iPad.

      To turn off the app completely,

      1. Tap Home button twice outside the app.
      2. On the bar that appears at the bottom, long tap the ‘My W Days’ icon.
      3. Tap x on the icon.

    I’ve downloaded this on iPad 3 and iPhone 4s. I can switch on iCloud on the iPad version but not on the iPhone. I have tried all the suggestions mentioned on this web page but it still won’t connect to iCloud on the phone.

      It seems that iCloud syncing doesn’t work well.

      It should work properly and I would like to suggest you to check out these things.

      * Check if iPhone and iPad is logged in to same iCloud account
      : Go to device’s main settings app.
      : Go to iCloud.
      : Check the account.
      : Account may be same but it should be logged in with correct password. If you have changed password in near days, check if it’s written correctly.

      * Check if iCloud’s ‘Documents and Data’ is on.
      : Go to device’s main settings app.
      : Go to iCloud.
      : Check if ‘Documents & Data’ is on.

      * Check if iCloud sync is on inside the app.
      : Go to the app
      : On settings inside the app, check if ‘iCloud sync’ is on.

      Try it and if it still doesn’t work, tell us what situation you’re facing with more detail.

  12. I have a big problem with this app. I cannot login to this app. It says wrong passcode. I think the cause is when i try to change password but i didn’t do all precesss. I quickly close this app. After that, when i try to use it again, i try to type many passcode but it still cannot use. Please solve this problem to me >.< i would like to use it for my important trip.

    Please help! I used your lute version to journal for a vacation. When the 10 days ran out I bought the full version. It worked for one day then said there was an update. I tried to update but now it will not install the update or let me open the app ( rendering my purchase useless). I am very frustrated and have not been able to journal for days.

    • Angie, turn off iPhone completely and turn it back on. Update should be done fine on normal conditions. Sometimes App Store causes updates to fail but it should be done in any time. And be sure to open paid version. :)

    I really love the app, and used the free version for all ten days until I had to upgrade. However, the iCloud syncing doesn’t appear to be working. Before I bought the paid version, I made sure ICloud syncing was turned on, on the lite version, it was. Then when the paid version loaded, I turned on syncing. My data never came through, so I am unsure of what to do now. When I open the lite version it says use the paid version and it redirects me….
    Do you have any ideas of how to transfer my entries, since I would like I have them.

    This is an awesome app!

      I recommend you to check if iCloud account is logged on correctly.

      Go to iPad’s settings – iCloud – and check the account ID and password.

      Also check if Documents and Data is on.

      If both are correct and turned on, go back to the app and try turning
      on inside the app.

    • To get the iCloud sync to work, please check below things.

      1. Check if iCloud account is logged on correctly on both devices.
      - Go to iPhone’s settings – iCloud – and check the account ID and password.

      2. Also check if Documents and Data is on on both devices.

      If both are correct and turned on, go back to the app and try turning
      on inside the app. Thanks! :D

  18. My Wonderful Days is an Excellent App that I use daily. Any release plans/date for a Mountain Lion App? Using my Mac gear would be great as I can type much faster and I can up date my daily Journal when others in my household are using my iPad.

    Great app, simple, perfect. Love the fact it only allows one entry per day.

    I’m still testing out the free version but is there a way to import data? I’ve used the Memento app on and off for the past couple years and it would be great to add this data. Will this be a feature on the Mac version? For those Momento entries with more than one per day, will they just merge into one day on MWD?

    • Hi Anthony! Thanks for the compliments! :) Currently there is no importing function of any kind. It’s not an easy task since all the formats used on different apps are different. But as you said, it’s a great idea. We’ll look through it more deeply and see if it can be done. Thanks a lot! :D

    First I want to say that this is a great app! Thank you for creating it.

    I’m having trouble syncing between my iPhone 4 and my iPad 3 via iCloud…I have it switched on for both. It was working until just a couple of days ago. I’ve tried killing the app, reinstalling, etc. but it is still not syncing. Any ideas? THank you

    • Hi Margs! Thanks! :D I’m sorry about the trouble you’re having. It should work well as before. I suggest you to just go out of the app and come back and wait awhile. To make sure if all entries are synced, go to settings.app -> iCloud -> Storage & Backup -> Manage Storage -> Documents & Data : My Wonderful Days and check if your entries are there correctly especially the recent ones. Hope it goes well! I’ll look deeper into it too! Thanks a lot!

  21. Just a couple of questions. What does live paper and start on writing do? I’ve tried to figure it out, but I’m just not that smart. This is an awesome app. Thanks for how well it has been put together and I can see that you really care about your product.

    • Thanks for compliments! :D Live paper makes the entry page older as you see it many times. Turning on ‘Start on writing’ will let you start on writing page when you first open the app. If you use iCloud, this is not recommended. :) Thanks a lot!

  22. I’ve paid for full version, 7 daysvago, and have downloaded on ipad1 and iphone4.
    So far thevsystem has nt synced!! In seetings under icloud there is no listing of the software. Your help please.

    • Hi Dan, Thanks for using My Wonderful Days. :) Currently iCloud sync is not stable. you can turn off the app and turn it back on and wait awhile to see it coming in. More stable version has been submitted and will come to you soon as Apple approves it. Thanks a lot! :)

  23. Hi, I can’t transfer my entries from lite to full. Instead of sending individual emails can you publish how to do it for everyone to read?

    • Hi! Thanks for using My Wonderful Days.

      If you’re using iCloud, all the entries should be transferred automatically.

      If you don’t use iCloud, you should transfer the data by yourself
      using wifi backup/restore.

      You need to have a PC/Mac on same wi-fi network with your iPhone/iPad.
      If you do, go to the app. Go to settings(bottom right), and at the
      bottom, tap Wifi backup.

      On PC browser(that’s firefox or chrome etc) type in the address shown
      on iPhone/iPad. Download the backup file. On full version, do the same way
      with backup->restore. Upload the same file you downloaded and all data
      will be transferred.

      : Check if your account is set properly and it’s same with iPad’s.

      - Tap settings button on bottom right
      - Go to iCloud sync and turn it on

    Hello I just recently reset my iphone and i couldn’t get back the old entries from icloud, i have enabled icloud sync. I can check the backup files on icloud (General>Usage>icloud>Manage Storage>My Wonderful Days>2012xxx.entry) This directory shows me my old entries before the reset, but i could not extract them, cannot even be viewed. Also I notice entries entered after the reset are not sync with icloud even though I have enabled it. So the app contains only my new entries.
    :((((
    I want all my entries in the app, I have been waiting for the sync for a week.

      Apparently my old entries were entered when I was using the previous version of app, now the app syncs only the content entered with the latest version (I reinstall the apps and it syncs only the new entries).

      • Hi William. It’s weird situation you’re facing. Turning off and turning back on the device often solves the issues on iCloud. Long tap the button on top and swipe to turn off. Tap again the top button to turn on the device. Try re-installing the app and wait awhile. As the app receives the status of iCloud, it’ll get the entries back.     • Hi Justin. It should work correctly. Try turning ‘iCloud sync’ on inside the app. If it’s not working, try turning off and on ‘Documents & Data’ on settings too.

Hi, i am completely in love with My Wonderful Days app and i got it on my computer and purchased it on my iphone and etc. but the thing is that my iCloud is not open and i didn’t use it.. i havent been using My Wonderful Days app for a month or so and now i opened it and i type in the password and it says its wrong password.. i keep on typing and typing and looked at the hint it should be right but it says wrong password what should i do now?:( PLease Help
